A one-stop solution

In 2016, Nikki Self and Christian von Seydlitz launched Saponetti, Toronto’s first zero-waste refill store, offering customers a one-stop solution for daily household products that has inspired a movement toward eco-conscious living.

The concept of Saponetti was born out of the impact that environmental scarring in Northern BC had on Nikki as a young girl during family camping trips. As she became more aware of the devastating effect of unsustainable consumerism and product development practices, Nikki pursued a path of eco-conscious living, a path she now shares with her life partner, Christian.

Toronto’s first zero-waste refill delivery store

Saponetti is an online shopping portal and a bricks-and-mortar refill station in Bloordale with aims to:

  • Drastically reduce single-use plastic.
  • Emphasize cleanliness.
  • Foster wellbeing for the planet and people.
  • Transform eco-anxiety through collective and sustainable actions.

The circular economy

Saponetti is committed to expanding the Circular Economy – a model that augments sharing and leasing, and reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling which extends the life cycle of products. The results of the circular economy are:

  • Fewer raw materials consumed
  • Less waste created
  • Fewer emissions in the atmosphere and our lungs

Ultimately a healthier, more sustainable, eco-friendly future for humankind and the planet.

Saponetti is a pioneer of eco-sustainable products in the Greater Toronto Area. Our goal is to educate, motivate and inspire individuals and businesses, locally and nationally, of how we all can rekindle a healthy symbiotic relationship with the earth.
